An audit register, run in the open

COA Watchdog is an independently operated register. It is not a laboratory, it does not sell peptides, and it does not sell testing. The site is operated as a public register: every check we run is recorded in a way a reader can repeat at the laboratory portal with the same identifiers.

Audits are performed by software for the parts that can be repeated exactly (collection, portal lookup, hashing, field comparison) and by a person for the parts that need judgement (reading an uncertain field, writing the finding, contacting the vendor). Every published card was read by a person before it went live.

A Certificate of Analysis is the only evidence most buyers see that a product was tested. It is also a document that anyone can edit. The laboratories that issue these reports increasingly publish verification portals, so the question of whether a given report is real has a definitive answer. That answer was not being collected anywhere.

This register collects it. For each vendor we record which reports exist at the issuing laboratory, which do not, and which differ from the original, with the evidence to show it. Verified vendors are scored and ranked so that a buyer can compare them on something better than a screenshot.

• No affiliate links. Links to vendor sites carry no tracking and earn us nothing.
• No paid placement. A vendor cannot pay to be listed, ranked, moved or removed.
• No vendor relationships. We do not consult for vendors, test for them, or accept product or payment from them.
• Checks are performed at the issuing laboratory portals, using the identifiers printed on the report. We do not rely on a vendor’s own copy to judge a vendor’s own copy.

The site is funded by its operators. If that changes, this section will say how, with a date. The rules that govern every audit are published in the methodology and change only with a dated note.

Before a card is published we send the findings and the evidence to the address the vendor lists on its site and record the date. The company has 7 days to reply. Whatever it sends is published verbatim in the company response block on the card, with the date received. Silence is recorded as silence, with the deadline that passed.

A vendor that fixes the issue can request a new audit at any time; the process is rule M-10. A vendor that believes we made a mistake can request a review under the corrections policy. Both routes are open to readers as well.

We answer correction requests within 7 days. We do not answer requests to remove a published finding without evidence; the policy explains what counts.
